JB:
Hey everyone! So this week was a week of getting stuff done. On Friday we went to get our marriage license (again). This time it went off without a hitch (that part is coming on september 1). So Aimee and I are now officially allowed to get married!!! It was really cool because it was like the first official part we've done. Made it seem that much more real to me. Then we spent most of this week trying to find a place to live. We've got it narrowed down to one of two places, and we will make that decision when we go to look at the second one on tuesday.

Aimee:
It has been such a nightmare trying to find a place to live. Every time we would find a place online we liked it would be taken 2 day later, and with our busy schedules its hard to find time to look at places during the week.

JB:
Thank goodness for great friends though, as they were the ones that let us know about these two. We have been spending most of the rest of this weekend at a family reunion for the Orr's (Aimee's Dad's side). We are having a blast! It is nice to be doing something other than wedding stuff on the weekend.

Aimee:
Although I am surprised your head hasn't exploded yet. He met 30 people in the last 2 days. And I'm surprised he hasn't started running. My family can be pretty crazy most times. I can't remember a reunion where we didn't have a full on water fight involving being thrown in a pool followed by rousing games that involve a lot of cheating and scheming. But what can I say, I love my family!

JB:
Well, I think that I have managed so far by not trying to remember everyone's names the first time I meet them. It means a lot less stress, but unfortunately that means I don't know a lot of the names (sorry to all those I will have to ask a second, or maybe fifth time). As for the crazy family, well lets just say Aimee hasn't been to any of our family reunions yet.

Aimee:
And speaking of family reunions, we are going to another one next weekend. The Sheen's! (My mothers side) This one will be a huge party, but it also means that we might not get around to posting next Sunday. We'll try to fill you all in during the week following. Hopefully it all works out.

JB:
That also means even more names for me to remember though. This might not work out so well. But I'm sure it will be a blast. Now, on to the most exciting part of our post. We got the engagement photos!!!! You may have seen some of them already on our facebook accounts, but we have some different ones especially for you guys.

JB:
We have more, but those need to be saved for the wedding slideshow, so you won't get to see them yet. Hope you all have a great week! We'll see if we get to post something next week or not.

Aimee:
So, we feel like we need to apologize because we still don't have any engagement pictures to show you all. We picked the ones we liked, and then we lost our list, then we picked them again and I've just been lazy and haven't emailed her yet. Hopefully next week we will have them. So we don't really have any pictures for this week. We didn't really do anything that involved taking pictures. But we did do a lot of stuff.

JB:
First of all, we went to do some more ring shopping. We sent Aimee's ring in so they can make the second part of the wedding band.

Aimee:
I miss my ring so bad!!!! My finger feels really weird without it. I'm wearing another ring but the weight is different so it's freaking me out! But hopefully i get it back soon.

JB:
I kind of miss it too. It looks really nice on Aimee's finger. But the other ring shopping that we did was for my ring. I don't have a picture of it yet, but it has a ring of hammered gold in the center with two thin rings of normal polished gold around it. Its pretty sweet. I did learn something about myself though. I am not a fan of wearing jewelry. I spent half the time there trying to get over the fact that I was going to be wearing a ring so that I could focus on whether I liked the ring or not. I think I was driving Aimee crazy.

Aimee:
You weren't driving me insane. I felt sorry for him cause you could see on his face how much he was trying to set all the psycological stuff aside and just look at the ring. I had to ask him very straight forward if he liked the ring, and of course he gets this look on his face that he doesn't like jewelry, so i emphasized liking the ring. Poor guy :(

JB:
And I do like the ring. I'm just going to have to get used to it. It feels really weird. It also didn't help that most of the rings were way too big.
Anyways, Saturday we went to look at two places to live, and we liked both, but the one want August rent and so we can't get that one. They are also both a little out of the way, so we are going to keep looking. In between the viewings though we tried to get a marriage license.

Aimee:
So we get there and the girl starts asking us questions. "What's your name, age, parent's name..." and we get to parents place of birth. JB's stuff was all done. So i told her my Mom was born in Taber and Dad was born in Fort MacLeod. And apparently, Fort MacLeod doesn't exist!!! The system didn't like how we spelled the town name. We even googled it and we spelled it right and the system still didn't accept it. So we have to go in next week between 9:30-4:30 to get them to override the spelling of the name. But both of us work during that time. so we are sacrificing my lunch on friday to try and squeeze it in. Hopefully it all works out.

JB:
So all you Fort MacLeodians beware. Apparently the government doesn't like you.

Aimee:
Then we went on a wild goose chase! For our center pieces we found these adorable little lanterns at the dollar store. But we needed 52. So we cleaned out the Dollarama's in Sherwood Park, St. Albert, and most of Edmonton. But we found all of them. There's probably 20 left in the city! There were 4 different designs but we only wanted 2 of them so all you out there, we left the ugly ones for you! HA!

JB:
We try to be generous. Though maybe not with pictures this week. We got some really funny pictures taken of us at a dance on Friday, but we haven't gotten those back yet. So unfortunately we will have to let you go without putting in a picture. Oh, and the RSVP is now up on the right hand side of this blog. See you all next week!

Aimee:
What happened this week? Well I'll tell you.... the post office made a killing off of us this week. AKA we sent out 300 invites this week!! Crazy, I know, that apparently that's how many people love us.

JB:
Plus we did a bunch more shopping. I got to go get my suit sized, and then the girls went jewelry shopping. Not that I was bored or anything, but when they walk around a mall for an hour or two sifting through racks of stuff that I will never use, well you get kind of tired.

Aimee:
Well, if that's how you really feel! You could have stayed home you know!

JB:
Well, it was more time with you. Either way, it was a weekend of shopping for me. Ya, so that means that there isn't a lot to tell you guys about. Sorry. Then for the pictures for this week, I thought that since a few of you have asked me what Aimee looks like, and since the engagement photos are taking longer than expected, we'll put up some pictures of ourselves.

Or, if you still can't figure it out, I"m wearing the yellow dress. JB wouldn't let me put a dress on him :(

JB:

Very true. Especially since I don't think any of her dresses would fit me and it would be a shame to ruin them trying to cram them over my head. This picture is the first one we got together, sometime around christmas. Its still one of my favorites.

Aimee:

This is our blog that we update each week on Sunday, so feel free to come back and follow us as we get ready for our marriage. I love this smart stuff. JB is amazing to figure it all out. I hope the technology doesn't confuse you too much, but i love it!

JB:
Okay, so another reason we're doing this is cause its just so much fun for me to put this together. Makes me feel smart. So please forgive me a little nerdy fun.

Aimee:
JB, you can be as nerdy as you like. (I think he looks cute when he's nerdy!) But back on topic. What happened this week....... we finally figured out our invitations. They are amazing and our photographer, Sharon Barnes, did and amazing job! We will post engagement pictures on here as soon as we get them. Hopefully it will be in 2 weeks, tops.

JB:
There has also been a lot going on that Aimee and I haven't been a part of. Mama Orr is busy sewing away making some incredibly pretty dresses, we are going tonight to pick out what food we want, and the decorations are slowly getting assembled. We are so thankful to all of you who are making this work so smoothly. It makes it so this is a lot of fun for us and takes a lot of the stress out of it, which is just amazing. So again, a big thank you to all of you!

Aimee:
We love to delegate, if you haven't noticed. Plus, we have bigger things to plan for, like the beginning of our life together, which is also very exciting! We are currently apartment hunting, so if you happen to know of any open places, let us know!! JB is sticking his tongue out at me!

JB:
Well you started it! Honestly, she did. So now its time for your goodie of the week to keep you all coming back. Aimee got the jewelry she will be wearing, and here they are along with the bridesmaids shoes!

Aimee:
My jewelry is so pretty and sparkly!!! I love it! and the shoes are perfect. They match the fun sundresses and the entire fun theme!! and i love using exclamation points!!!!!!!!!! ;)

Aimee:
So this weeks entry is very tricky... i went wedding dress shopping! so i have to be very vague cause JB is right here beside me and we can't post any pictures. We went to Calgary and we made an appointment at Beautiful Bride, but when we got there it wasn't what we expected. It felt like we walked into a funeral home, and their dress selection was terrible. ON line they had 5 lines of dresses and 2 were modest so i picked 14 dresses i wanted to try on. We got there and they didn't have any of the dresses i wanted to try on. They only had about 5 dresses in my size. So i held back the tears and tried on dresses that i didn't like. Then we left and went to another store. Luckily Blissful Bride was across the street, we walked in and started trying on dresses. They had racks and racks of dresses, and i picked 7 dresses to try on in the first 5 minutes of being there. I tried them all on, picked 3 faves, then i chose between the three. Mine is perfect!!!! Okay, vague description... its ivory, it has a train, and its awesome! there, that's the description.

JB:
So I have been nice and quiet this whole time hoping that she would forget I'm here and let something slip, but unfortunately no. Actually, the reason is that of course I wasn't there for all of this. I was busy helping people move and trying not to wonder what the dress looks like. Really I didn't do a lot of wedding prep stuff. I sent out all my requests for addresses, oh, and I bought a queen sized mattress. Friday Aimee saw this awesome deal at the brick and thought we should get it. Then we looked and the deal ended today. So a quick trip was needed. And it really was quick. I tried a few different ones, but the we had seen was the cheapest and it was really nice too. Ya, so a nice slow week as far as wedding prep goes on my side. Kind of nice.

Aimee:
Well, wedding dress shopping was fun, we also went to the Distribution center to get my temple stuff. Talk about a deer in head lights. First my mom bossed me around the store, then we had to temple clothes school,  then I got measured, then we got sent off to find stuff. I was so confused! I haven't taken my temple prep class yet so I was super confused. Luckily my Mom just took over and told me what to get. I have never been so confused or stressed over something I had no idea what i was doing.

But the best part of the trip was on the way home. After a day of shopping people get very tired and end up sleeping on the way home...

Hahahahahahaha, i love being awake when others fall asleep!

JB:

I guess I have to watch out. Aimee seems to be dangerous with a camera. Someday I will get a picture of her sleeping. And hey, if I manage it before the wedding I'll be sure to post.

Aimee:

I'll just have to doll myself up before i fall asleep. Well, that might be a lot of work..... well I guess everyone looks funny when they sleep, so i shouldn't be too worried. If he gets me, its called PAYBACK! 

JB:

Don't worry Aimee, I'll try to get your good side ;)
